This comfortable and bright chalet on the edge of an authentic Savoyard village is the perfect base for a holiday surrounded by nature.
The rural village of Samoëns offers a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants. There are also numerous mountain and water sports and activities to enjoy nearby, whatever the season.
In winter, a free shuttle bus runs every 20 minutes, connecting Samoëns to the slopes of Morillon and Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval. The Grand Massif ski area offers 265km of slopes for all levels and a modern system of ski lifts.
Outside the winter season, visitors can enjoy the extensive network of cycling and hiking trails, as well as a wide range of other activities, such as tree-top assault course, swimming in the Lac aux Dames leisure area and water sports on the Giffre river.
About the property…
Chalet Mushy is a three-storey chalet on a country road, close to Samoëns. It can accommodate 10 guests (eight adults) in five bedrooms with two bathrooms.
The entrance hall has been converted into a comfortable living room with an L-shaped sofa and a television, so you feel at home as soon as you walk through the door. A few steps lead to an L-shaped open plan area with a fully equipped kitchen, dining table and several sofas. This room, which has stunning views of the mountains, opens onto a terrace where you can enjoy meals at a second dining table. There is also a WC on this floor.
The five bedrooms – three double rooms and two twin rooms – are split between the upper floor and the garden level, which has its own entrance. The lower floor has a bathroom with a bath and WC, while the upper floor has a bathroom with a WC and walk-in shower.
Chalet Mushy also has a garden, a covered garage for one car, and several outdoor parking spaces.
Please note that while the driveway is regularly cleared out of snow, access to the property can be more difficult in case of heavy snowfalls.
About the area…
Samoëns and the Grand Massif offer a wide range of activities, whenever you choose to visit.
The ski area links the slopes of Samoëns to those of Flaine, Les Carroz, Morillon and Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval, offering a total of 265km of slopes and an excellent network of ski lifts. Snowfall is regular and abundant, and 80% of the slopes face north.
With a variety of slopes, you are sure to find a challenge to suit your level. For example, experienced skiers can tackle the Combe de Gers, with its 800m vertical drop.
Outside the ski season, the region offers hiking and cycling, as well as climbing in the mountains and water sports on the Giffre River. The Lac aux Dames leisure area is perfect for a family day out, with a swimming area, outdoor pool and discovery trails, as well as fishing, tennis and golf.
Nature lovers can visit the Jaÿsinia Alpine Garden in Samoëns, which celebrates mountain flora from around the world. This four-hectare garden is on a hillside, but the climb to the top offers breathtaking views of the valley and the ruins of a medieval castle.
Be sure to visit the village of Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval, less than a 15-minute drive from the chalet. Close to a natural amphitheatre of high limestone cliffs, it has been named one of the most beautiful villages in France. It is also the starting point for superb rafting descents and a via ferrata route.

Once a home to skilled stonecutters, the traditional Alpine village of Samoens is now the gateway to some wonderful skiing, walking and biking in the Grand Massif.
It’s a great choice if you’re looking for a ski resort where you can relax after an exhilarating day in the mountains.

This light-filled space has a fully equipped kitchen, a dining table and a lounge area, where sofas are perfectly placed so that you can enjoy the mountain views. Outside, a terrace extends this relaxed setting with a dining table, ideal for summer meals.
The five bedrooms and two bathrooms that make up Chalet Mushy are spread between the upper floor and the garden level, which has a convenient separate entrance.
Three double bedrooms and two twin bedrooms ensure a good night's sleep for everyone. The lower level also has a bathroom with a bath, and the upper floor has a bathroom with a walk-in shower.

My brother and I were originally drawn to the beauty, culture, and charm of Samoëns. When we came across Chalet Mushy, we recognised both its character and its potential, and set out to renovate it with care.
Our aim was to preserve its authentic Alpine spirit while creating a warm, welcoming retreat for guests.
Perched in a quiet spot with stunning views, the chalet offers a real sense of peace and serenity. At the same time, it’s just a short walk into the village, where you’ll find shops, restaurants, and all the life of Samoëns.
For us, it’s the perfect balance – a place to disconnect, recharge and enjoy the mountains, and we’re delighted to share it with you.
